Verify the App Store listing

On the App StoreDownload on the App Store

Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms. It’s a one-time purchase, available only on the App Store. Verify the storefront and developer before purchasing. To connect for the first time, use your existing subscription or server details.

  • Developer: Shadow Launch Technology Limited
  • App ID: 932747118
  • US storefront: $2.99 one-time purchase
  • For iPhone and iPad

Refer to the App Store page for pricing, system requirements, and purchase availability.

Storefront and account region

This app isn’t available in the China mainland storefront. The country or region associated with the Apple ID used for purchases determines which App Store content is shown—not your device’s display language. If you can’t find Shadowrocket, check your account region first; changing your device language won’t change the storefront. The product button on this page opens Shadowrocket’s US App Store listing. The App Store shows purchase availability based on your account and device.

To check, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. Some system versions may ask you to open your account details or verify your identity first; follow the prompts on your device. Check which account is signed in to the device and which account is used for Media & Purchases. Use the account that actually made the purchase to look up your purchase history.

If you need to change your country or region, use the official account settings above. Apple’s account page will tell you whether you’re eligible, whether you need to resolve a balance or subscription, and which payment methods are available. This page explains where to check; it can’t guarantee that a region change will be available for every account. Read any eligibility notices before proceeding, and avoid switching regions repeatedly before confirming your purchase history.

Shadowrocket three ways to verify the app

Official Shadowrocket icon: a rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background

Check the developer and app ID, not just the name

Shadowrocket is sometimes referred to as “Shadowrocket” in Chinese-language contexts. Alternate names and search terms can help identify the app, but they don’t replace verifying its identity.

On the App Store product page, check that the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Then compare the icon with the official icon shown here: a rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background. Finally, verify that the app ID is 932747118 and that the product link ends with id932747118. All three details should match the same product page. Don’t confirm a purchase based only on a similar name in search results.

Search results may include apps with similar names or icons. Open the product page before comparing; don’t rely on titles shortened in the results list. The developer name and app ID are better for verifying identity than keywords in the title. If either detail doesn’t match, return to the App Store product button on this page and check again. If you’ve already purchased the app, you can also compare it with your purchase history to avoid mistaking another app for the one you bought.

The two images below are official App Store screenshots showing the main Home and Add Server screens. They aren’t proof of purchase. The English text, status, and example fields are for illustration only; the display on your device may vary with system language, screen size, and app updates. Verify the app by checking the developer, icon, and app ID—not by relying on the position of any single button.

iPhone

Purchase and first launch on iPhone

Open the App Store product link on this page from your iPhone. First verify the app using the three checks, then review the compatibility section. Refer to the App Store page for system requirements. Don’t rely only on your device model or system version in an old guide to determine whether the app can be installed. If the page shows a price, confirm the account and payment details before completing the purchase. If it shows that you already own the app or offers a redownload button, check your purchase history first.

Once installed, open Shadowrocket. Home shows the connection status and server list. Opening the app for the first time doesn’t mean a connection is ready or that a server is included with the purchase. When you have your own subscription or server details, choose an import method that matches what you have. For manual entry, fill in Type, Host, Port, and any authentication fields required by the protocol. Don’t copy example details from the official screenshots.

VPN configuration approval appears when you connect

When you start a connection for the first time, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. This is required to establish a system network connection and is separate from App Store payment confirmation. Make sure the request comes from Shadowrocket, then follow the system prompts to approve it. If you previously declined, start a connection again in the app and check the system prompt; you don’t need to buy the app again.

After importing, check that the server you want to use is selected in Home. Turn on the connection switch, then use Connectivity Test to help verify the connection. Test results are separate from your App Store purchase status: a successful installation only confirms that the app was obtained; connectivity depends on your existing server details and current network. See the first connection tutorial for the complete steps. If something goes wrong, note the exact message to help distinguish an authorization, configuration, or network issue.

iPad

iPad installation and device compatibility

You can use the purchase history for the same Apple ID on iPhone and iPad to install Shadowrocket. If you bought it on iPhone, make sure the iPad’s Media & Purchases account is the one used for the original purchase, then look for the app in Purchased. Being signed in to the same cloud account on both devices doesn’t necessarily mean the same account is used for App Store purchases. If a price still appears, check the account and purchase history first.

The wider iPad screen may show more of a list or settings page, and spacing may differ from iPhone. Identify app sections by their interface labels, such as Home, Config, and Settings. After installation, check the server list, selected configuration, and connection status separately. A working connection on another device doesn’t mean the same information has been imported to this iPad.

Refer to the App Store page for system requirements and purchase availability. If the device says it’s incompatible, review the product page’s compatibility and system update information rather than repeatedly attempting to purchase. Whether you own the app and whether it can run on your current device are separate questions; check both.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Availability on your device, universal purchase, and system version requirements are as listed on the App Store page. To use the app, check the same product and your purchase status in the App Store on the relevant device. This guide focuses on iPhone and iPad; the steps for those devices may not apply to others.

Purchased

Restore after switching or reinstalling

When you get a new device, restore your purchase history first, then restore your own connection details. Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase and find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased. Open the listing and download it again; you usually won’t need to pay again. The Purchased list may have a slightly different name in some system versions. Look for the app or purchase history in your account; the key is to find the item associated with the original purchase account.

Still seeing a price? Check these details first

If the product page still shows a price, don’t pay again right away. First check the account used for Media & Purchases, then verify your original purchase history, current storefront region, and the app ID. Make sure you’re viewing Shadowrocket, not another result with the same name. If the purchase history and page status don’t match, contact Apple through its account and purchase support channels. Changing settings in the app won’t fix an App Store billing issue.

Family Sharing availability depends on the App Store listing and your family purchase settings. A family member’s purchase, a previous installation on the device, or membership in the same family group doesn’t guarantee that you can restore the app. First confirm that the purchase is eligible for sharing and that your account can access the relevant purchase history, then follow the App Store prompts.

Restore the app and its configuration separately

Redownloading restores the app itself; it doesn’t necessarily restore servers, subscriptions, or configurations to your new device. After installation, check Home and Config to see what’s already there. Restore anything missing from your own saved subscription, server details, or configuration backup. Credentials are sensitive personal information. When transferring them, check the receiving device and storage location, and don’t include complete authentication details in public screenshots.

After restoring, test one existing connection that you know is usable before restoring more complex rules. This makes it easier to tell whether a problem comes from missing basic settings or changed configuration matching. If your old device still works, keep its current working configuration until you’ve imported and tested everything on the new device. Then handle the old device’s data.

What the purchase covers

Price and one-time purchase

The US App Store price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. The amount charged is the price shown in the storefront when you buy; other storefronts display local currency. A one-time purchase covers the client app and doesn’t incur a monthly app purchase fee. Before confirming payment, check the price, currency, and purchase details shown for your account. The reference price on this page isn’t a universal price for every region.

Understanding this distinction helps explain what you see when you first open the app. If the server list is empty, import your existing details. If authentication fails, check your server credentials. If your existing details have expired, confirm their validity with the provider. These issues are separate from whether you’ve purchased the app on the App Store; buying it again won’t replace checking your settings.

App updates are handled through the App Store. Check your device’s app update settings and the App Store’s update list; you don’t need to make another purchase to get standard updates. If you plan to change rules or move to a new device before updating, keep your current working configuration and make app updates and configuration changes separately where possible. This makes it easier to identify the cause of any differences. Follow Apple’s current process for refund requests, failed payments, and billing questions.

Download and purchase FAQ

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

This app isn’t available in the China mainland storefront. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which storefront you can see. Check your account details under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region, then open the product link on this page. Any region change must meet Apple’s requirements; follow the guidance shown in your account.

What if the product page opens but the download won’t complete?

Note the full App Store message, then check your purchase account, payment status, available device storage, and network connection. Check the App Store page for system requirements. For billing or account messages, contact Apple through its account and purchase support channels rather than changing Shadowrocket server settings.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new device?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. If a price still appears, verify the account used for Media & Purchases and check your purchase history before proceeding. Redownloading the app does not restore its in-app configuration.

Can I install it on iPad after purchasing?

You can use the same Apple ID purchase on iPhone and iPad to install Shadowrocket. Find it in Purchased in the iPad App Store and check device compatibility. Refer to the App Store page for system requirements and purchase availability. Check subscriptions and configurations separately on each device.

How do I check compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision?

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the App Store page for availability on your device, universal purchase, and system requirements. Verify your purchase status in the App Store on the relevant device.

Where should I start if the app opens in English?

Start by identifying Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings. Home shows connection status and the server list; Add Server is where you enter details for an existing server; Config manages configuration files. Refer to the official screenshots on this page, then follow the tutorial to import a configuration, select a server, and test the connection.
